No crusade is going to happen without crusaders. The more mindless, boorish, and ugly the footsoldiers for the Lord are, the better. And they don't come much uglier than Woohoo... sorry, MarkSweep.
When Mark read Jimbo "wondering whether" people would mind awfully not having political userboxes on their userpages -- because Jimbo has a fantasy in which Wikipedians are all nice and cuddly and don't fight like cats and dogs at every opportunity over the most trivial shit they can find -- he recognised a call to arms when he saw it. "The Grim Sweeper" started deleting userboxes left, right, and centrist.
The howls of dismay from those who like pretty boxes with political messages on their userpages fell on deaf ears. The Sweeper is an admin, an empowered user who is able to do what he wants with absolute impunity.
As good Wikipedians, we AGF the Sweeper. Instead of considering him malicious, we have to believe he's just a fucking idiot. Still, the Sweeper has gone from wikinobody to talked-about superstar rogue admin overnight. Pity that bullying unempowered users isn't the kind of thing that impresses girls.
